Aedes nigrocanus (F)
Aedes nigrocanus Meigen, 1838
Type-loc: Turkey
This species was described by Martini in 1927 from only one male sample, collected in Turkey, on the train. Holotype remains in Natural History Museum London, originality of this species is proven by C. John Lane in 1992.
Difficult to differentiate from Aedes pulchritarsis.
